1. How Do I Prepare My CV?
To register with us, you are required to submit a comprehensive but succinct curriculum vitae (CV) onto our database.
The Management System uses a keyword search index to identify suitable consultants for particular employment opportunities, and this is cross referenced with your CV.
A naming protocol has been assigned for all CVs. Please save your file in Microsoft Word and use the correct nomenclature as detailed below:
'Surname_FirstName_Month Year'
- Surname. Spaces are allowed for double surnames ie. De Sousa, and apostrophes are also allowed ie. D'Silva
- First Name. Do not add second names or any initials. The exception to this rule is if a common name other than their name is used ie Neville. This is submitted as follows Ross_(Neville)_Smith.doc
- Month Year indicates the month and year of submission
PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU CHOOSE 'Word Document' OR 'Rich Text Format' FROM "SAVE AS TYPE"
Examples
Smith_Ross_May 2003.doc
Smith_(Neville)_Ross_August 2003.rtf
CVs should be submitted to registration@cardno.com using the file naming convention explained above.
2. What if the registration skill areas (tick boxes) do not reflect my experience?
Fill in your experience details as close as possible, along the terms set out in the Registration Form. Use the specialty area text box to identify other areas of specialisation. In addition to your Registration Form, we use your CV to expand on and understand your skill level and experience.
3. Do I have to indicate a fee rate on the registration form?
It is not compulsory to provide a rate, however, the form gives you the opportunity to indicate your preferred fee rate. Our rates are competitive for the industry.
4. What happens to my details when I am registered?
We will confirm receipt of your Registration Form and CV within 24 hours. Within 10 days, your details will have been checked against your CV and made available to our staff through our the database. As long as you are registered with us, your details are available to our head office consultants. Your details will remain confidential. We do not share them without your permission. For further details regarding confidentiality of information, please refer to our privacy statement.
5. How does Cardno Acil determine who to place on a project?
We prepare tender submissions for our clients in a competitive environment. Tender documents include the terms of reference for the personnel roles. We use these to initially identify consultants within our database who have the skills and experience relevant to the project roles. Our clients usually require experience in the recipient country and/or strong experience in relevant technical fields.
6. When will I hear from Cardno Acil about a role overseas?
From the pool of consultants registered with us, we select the best-qualified persons to fill project roles. If your CV appears as a potential match to a project role, we will contact you. We usually contact people with those skills and experience that are relevant to our strategic business focus. Our needs will change over time as the company revises its strategy in-line with changing market conditions.
Based on the above factors, you may hear from us within months or sometimes several years. You should continue to refer to our website to keep abreast of current opportunities and company developments. Even after you've registered, if you find a project role that you believe suits your skills and experience, please contact our relevant consultant directly to express your interest. Please note that unlike recruitment companies, we do not market consultant CVs to other companies. Your records are kept confidentially with us.
7. How long will Cardno Acil keep my registration details?
If we do not hear from you within two years of receiving your CV, and we cannot contact you via your given contact details, your records will become inactive. You can re-activate your records by sending us an updated CV with contact details. You can remain registered with us as long as you wish, or remove your name from our register at any time by contacting us at registration@cardno.com.
8. How do I let Cardno Acil know that my contact details have changed or that I have gained additional experience?
We prefer that you update your details on-line and email your CV or the new details to us at registration@cardno.com.
